1st Visit to the ER at Cooks Childrens

Poor Braylon gave Steve and I a good scare a week ago. Of course I think with any new parents, the first time a newborn gets sick they automatically freak out!
We had visited his pediatrician sat morning but by that night he started carrying a fever. We called his Hematology doc and they said monitor him over night to see how it goes. So Sunday came around and we thought we were in the clear. But that night he started becoming REAL fussy again and very feverish. So we called his Hematology doc and they said go ahead and bring him in. They did blood work and found out his ANC (white blood cells that fight the infections) level had dropped a considerable amount. The normal level is about 1500 and last visit he was 990 but at the ER it had dropped to 660! So they gave him and antibiotic shot to see if this could help fight off the infection! Braylon of course was such a brave lil boy like he always is and once they bring out that SUGAR WATER he is in heaven!!! Hmmm sweet tooth, I wonder where her gets that from.
Anyhow he is doing much better, the fever is gone and he still has a little congestion but THANK GOD the three of us survived his FIRST sickness!!!!
