Steve's Work Baby Shower

The only picture I have of Steve from the shower!!! He HATES taking pictures, and he married me knowing what a picture taker I am!!! LOL

Steve's Co Workers threw him a baby shower at his work on Friday! It's too funny b/c he hates being center of attention so I was curious to see how he would react! He said it was alot of fun! They had Tacos and a yummy cake!! His co-workers came together and bought us the bassinet for our LIL MAN!!! We were just ecstatic!!! Steve already assembled it on Sat.

A really cute frame was made by his Co-worker Lisa which had our lil man's nickname "CRICKET" on it! He got that nickname b/c at one of the sonograms we saw him rubbing his feet together just like I do when I try to go to sleep at night. Grandma Martinez came up with that nickname for him after she heard the sono story so the nickname stuck! It was too cute! Then Steve's boss, Roxanne and her family gave us an adorable blanket with cute dog paws and some swaddling blankets!!! Thank you so much for throwing such a wonderful shower for Steve!!! BTW the cake was AWESOME, I made Steve promise he would bring me a piece home!

Work Baby Shower

What a wonderful surprise! Lori and Mary threw us such a beautiful Baby Shower!!! It was rescheduled due to my bed rest and then they only had a few days to put the second one together so we were just so thankful for such an exciting shower! The branch had come together and bought us his Bedding Set and to top it off the only thing that he was missing was a Pack n Play to our surprise Lori, Christy, and Mary bought that also! We were sooooo very excited and thankful! He got several cute outfits, blankets, a mobile, toys and a super cute baby book and scrapbook!!! I wish I would have gotten to take more pictures but it went by so quick that I only thought about it after everyone had left!!! Leave it up to prego to forget something important like that!!! Thank you again I have the best group of co-workers ever!!!!

Week 36 and waiting for our LIL MAN

Went to the doctor this week and she said that I just need to hold on for one more week that was at Monday's appointment! I had wonderful friends and family visit me throughout the week and brought me yummy lunches and dinner! It was so thoughtful and kind we just feel so blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people!
My appointment on Friday did not go as well as planned at first! When I got to triage my blood pressure was 140/95 pretty high (my doc said anything over 90 for the bottom number then I have to go to the hosp and let them check me out)! Crazy enough I have ALWAYS had low BP my normal averages around 115/60's! So that is why my doc is so concerned! I was there for about 4 hours enough to hear twins being born b/c the surgery room is right across the hall and 2 women getting prepped for c-sections in the area that I was in! Pretty exciting! My blood work also had to come back weird with one test so the redrew my blood 3 times and tested each again to make sure everything was fine!!! Steve only made it through the 1st drawing of blood........the tech said she was pretty concerned on how he was going to do in delivery! LOL But after 4 hours they finally sent me home! Steve was sure our LIL MAN was going to make his grand appearance today but i kept telling him not yet!
ANYHOW here I am still on BED REST and my doctor is going to wait to make a decision at Monday's appointment (week 37) on when to induce!!! So hopefully we will have a date!!!

Week 35 to week 36 BEDREST BEGAN

Well as of Friday July 10th I worked a full day of work not knowing that it was going to be my last day for a while until Baby Martinez arrives! I came home that day swollen and with a throbbing headache! Steve took me to Triage (ER of L&D) to get me checked me out! My Blood Pressure was 140/88 and my ankles and legs left indentions when you pressed down on them!! Really appealing huh? They called my doctor and she officially put me on bed rest for what I thought was just for the weekend! My branch had our baby shower planned at Catfish Plantation and I was even told that I could not go to that on Sat! I was pretty dissapointed!
When I met with her on Monday she made it official that bed rest is my destiny for the next couple of weeks until our LIL MAN is here! She wanted me to make it to at least full term which is 37 and then make a decision.

Adorable Cake

Lani, this cake was awesome not only b/c it was so cute but its taste was amazing!!! There was nothing left but the knife to lick!!! Not only that she bought and oreo cake and 40 adorable cookies and they were all gone too!!! Great choice on desserts!!!

Grandma and I! She is looking forward to meeting her first Great-Grandchild from the "DALLAS BUNCH"! Finally someone decided to have a kid on our side, at least that is what Paul (Cec)AKA "Grandpa Smith" keeps telling us! LOL

Week 33 Family Shower

Wow already week 33! Time is just flying by so fast!
This shower was at Lani and Dennis' house! They were so gracious to open up their house to us!!! We had TONS of food! Mom made her famous egg rolls and lots of Filipino food! It was all gone, I think the only thing I got to take home was a few egg rolls!!! Grandparents came in from San Antonio and Aunt Mary and Megan came down from Stockdale! It was so great to spend time with them. Cousin Terri and Doug and the kids also came we just had so much fun. We had several friends and family that came that live in town and we just felt so blessed to have them there!
